The arrival of a new baby can be quite stressful and there is a myriad of things to consider and to prepare.
To get from point A to point B can be a bit more challenging with a new baby to consider. However, this does not mean you have to buy a new car. There are some preventative measures you can take to ensure your baby is safe and comfortable.
Buy a baby car chair
The most important preventative measure is to ensure that your infant is safe in a car. To buy the right car chair can be a headache as there are so many different types and it could make a dent in your wallet.
However, a car chair is essential as it could mean the difference between life and death in the case of a serious traffic accident.
Car chairs can also have a variety of functions and can therefore differ in price. You are looking for a car chair that will suit your baby the best, will fit in your car and that you fit inside your care first time every time. It is essential to know how to use the car chair and how it should be adjusted as your child grows older.
Is your boot big enough?
A pram is one of the first big purchases new parents think about. You may already have a pram in mind. However, there is something you first have to consider before buying a pram – and that is storage space in your car. Prams differ in size, shape and flexibility, therefore make sure that the pram you have in mind will indeed fit in your car.
Protection against the sun
A baby’s skin is very sensitive and sunblock is a must when baby spends time in the sun. The sun can also heat up the inside of a car very quickly and direct sunlight streams in through a car’s windows quite easily. You could therefore consider having your car’s windows tinted to make the car cooler and prevent direct sunlight on your baby.
The other option is sunshades that can simply be stuck on to keep out most of the sun, but make sure that the product does in fact provide sufficient protection.
Keep the car clean and safe
Make sure your car is clean and safe at all times. Don’t keep unnecessary items that could lead to injuries in your car. The interior of the car should be kept clean to ensure there are no germs present that could cause your baby to fall sick.
Make sure there is a babycare set
Babies can be very messy and on the road especially it can lead to a lot of frustration if you don’t have the necessary products. So make sure you have a babycare set at hand in your car. This includes wipes, extra nappies, cleaning cloths and baby clothes.
