There is never enough time to bake cinnabons, but now time is your best friend. You will never again buy cinnabons in a shop.
You will need:
4½ cups cake flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1¼ cups milk
½ cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1½ cups icing sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Juice of one lemon.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
Grease a square baking tray with Spray and Cook or butter.
Mix the cake flour, baking powder, salt, butter and milk in an electric mixer. Process the dough with the dough hook.
Roll out the dough on a working surface until it is one centimetre thick.
Spread the melted butter on the dough. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the melted butter.
Cut the sugared dough into five-centimetre long strips.
Roll up the strips and place the round cinnabons on the baking tray.
Make sure there is approximately two centimetres space between the cinnabons.
Place in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until the cinnabons turn golden brown.
Mix the icing sugar, butter, vanilla essence and lemon juice. Spread a generous layer of the lemon juice icing sugar over the warm cinnabons.
